How to embed the withdrawal access in your shop

Revoq offers three ways to embed the withdrawal form in your shop. Which option fits best depends on your theme, your design preferences, and the visibility you want. This article explains the differences – so you can make the right choice.

All three options meet the requirements of EU Directive 2023/2673 (amending Article 16a of the Consumer Rights Directive), as long as the form is permanently visible and clearly labeled.

The three embedding options at a glance

When you install Revoq, the setup assistant "Set up Revoq" guides you through one of these three options:

The form lives on a dedicated page in your shop (e.g. yourshop.com/pages/eu-withdrawal-form). Customers reach it through a link in the footer.

When does this fit?

  • You want a clean, permanently visible solution
  • Your theme uses a modern section-based layout
  • You also want to link the withdrawal page from your withdrawal instructions

Advantages

  • Dedicated URL that you can reference in emails and legal texts
  • Seamless integration into your shop design
  • Best choice for SEO

Setup effort: Low (3 steps in the setup assistant – the page is created automatically)

Guide: Set up a dedicated withdrawal page

2. Button in a section

A button you place anywhere in your theme (typically in the footer). When clicked, the form opens as a popup over the current page.

When does this fit?

  • You don't want a separate page redirect for your customers
  • You already have a specific spot in your theme in mind for the button
  • Your theme uses sections (not a vintage theme)

Advantages

  • Flexible placement
  • No additional page load
  • Fast user experience

Setup effort: Medium (2 steps – you place the button yourself in the theme editor)

Guide: Embed a button in a section

3. Floating Button

A floating button that is visible on every page of your shop – typically in the bottom right. When clicked, the form opens as a popup.

When does this fit?

  • You want the fastest, most universal solution
  • You're using a vintage theme (this is often the only option then)
  • You want maximum visibility without any theme adjustments

Advantages

  • Works with any theme (including vintage themes)
  • No theme editing required
  • Ready to use immediately
  • Position (left/right) and color are customizable

Setup effort: Very low (1 click – activate the app embed)

Guide: Activate the Floating Button

Which option is right for you?

If you...

Choose

use a modern theme with sections and care about clean integration

Dedicated withdrawal page

want full control over where the button is placed

Button in a section

want a quick, universal solution without theme tweaks

Floating Button

use a vintage theme

Floating Button (see vintage guide)

Tip: When in doubt, start with the Floating Button – it's set up in 30 seconds, and you can switch to a different option or combine multiple options later at any time.

What happens if the setup assistant has already been completed?

The setup assistant "Set up Revoq" is offered automatically on first launch and walks you through one of the three options. Once the steps have been completed, they stay marked as done – running them again with automatic page creation is no longer possible.

That's not a problem: all three options can also be set up manually. You'll find the step-by-step guides in the articles linked above.

Where do I find the setup guides later? In the Revoq settings under Settings → "App & Automation", the three setup guides are linked. Already completed steps appear as done.

After embedding, we recommend going through the Go-Live Checklist to verify all further compliance requirements.
